Rapper Snoop Dogg is developing a family drama series for HBO.
The 43-year-old rapper-actor announced the project during his keynote at the South by Southwest conference in Austin on Friday, March 20. The series is set in 1980s Los Angeles, reported Deadline
“HBO is the number one network in the world as far as developing and having these types of shows come to life. This is a dream come true to be able to tell a story that’s going to be told the right way on the right network,” he said.

Dogg and HBO have not shared more details of the upcoming series.
It reportedly “centers on a family whose seemingly idyllic life is turned upside down by the collision of their community and American politics.”
Dogg teams up with Allen Hughes, Ted Chung and Rodney Barnes to executive produce the yet-to-be-titled drama. Hughes is also on board as director, with Rodney Barnes.
