Former secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG) and the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Mr. Umana Okon Umana, has expressed his delight at leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last month to the APC.
Umana, until last month, was a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of PDP but defected to become the gubernatorial standard-bearer of the APC.
He told Daily Sun that he had no regrets leaving PDP, saying the party discriminated against him and some other aspirants while pitching tent with only one out of the 25 aspirants. “There was no internal democracy in PDP and that was one of the reasons I left. Now I have been vindicated. We will contest and win elections at all levels because with the mass defection of PDP members into APC, our party has become the biggest party in the state,” Umana said.
